PORTERDALE TRAILS

YELLOW RIVER TRAIL
DESCRIPTION

In 2006, Newton Trails built a 1480-foot, concrete loop trail along the Yellow River in Porterdale, at the site of the Porterdale Yellow River Park. The city of Porterdale has since paved a quarter-mile section of the old railroad corridor, beginning at the historic train depot on Broad Street, and has connected this to the loop trail.  They have also created a primitive trail through a wooded area beside the river. Yellow River Park features a frisby disc golf course, kayak launch, open play area, and picnic tables.

Future plans include connecting Porterdale to Covington via the proposed Turkey Creek/Yellow River Trail.
